Material guide

TPU for flexible replacement parts

TPU is a flexible material family that can work well when the part needs controlled compliance rather than rigid structure. Durometer, wall geometry, loading direction, and long-term deformation all matter.

Where TPU can make sense

  • Flexible and impact-tolerant behavior
  • Useful for bumpers, pads, flexible interfaces, and protective features
  • Geometry can tune compliance significantly

What we still check

  • Not appropriate when rigid dimensional stability is required
  • Durometer and formulation matter
  • Compression set, friction, wear, and environmental exposure should be checked
Material family names are not complete engineering specifications. Grade, process, orientation, geometry, environment, and verification evidence can materially change performance.
